What can you infer about the character? או Compare the protagonist at the beginning and at the end.
שינוי קטן בניסוח — למשל מעבר מ־“Why did the character…” ל־“What can you infer…”
אם השאלה היא “Who entered the room?”, ידע של העלילה מספיק. אם השאלה היא “What can you infer from the way the character enters the room?”, צריך להתייחס לאופן שבו האירוע מתואר. אם השאלה היא “Compare this entrance with the character’s behavior later,” נדרש כבר מעבר בין שני חלקים של הסיפור.
התשובה הטובה אינה “I think she is nervous” בלבד, אלא “I infer that she is nervous because…”
לכן משפט כמו “Maybe he is jealous” הוא רק התחלה.
| Cause & Effect |
ו־I infer that לא מספיק בלי ראיות.
שלב ראשון: Name the move. אם השאלה משתמשת במילים כמו suggest, probably, what can we understand, סביר שמדובר בהסקה. אם היא שואלת why, as a result, what led to, היא מכוונת לקשר סיבתי.
שלב שני: Say the idea simply.
שלב רביעי: Explain the link. This shows that…, This suggests that…, As a result…, Unlike earlier in the story….
At the beginning, the character avoids responsibility, but at the end he accepts it. Early in the story he blames others, while later he admits his mistake. This contrast shows that he has matured.
אם התלמיד אומר “I infer he is angry because he left”, המורה יכול לשאול: האם עזיבה בהכרח מוכיחה כעס?
1–134: Comparing and Contrasting

מתחילים ב־“My first idea is…”
עובדים על because, while, unlike, this suggests, as a result, therefore — לא כרשימת דקדוק אלא ככלים שמחברים מחשבות.
למשל, “Compare two solutions to a problem”, “What can you infer from this email?”, “What caused the delay and what was the effect?”.
למשל, במקום לדרוש “The protagonist undergoes a significant transformation”, אפשר לאפשר “At first he avoids the problem, but later he faces it.”
Literature Handbook, Pedagogy Section.
Inferring.
2. Education Endowment Foundation – One to One Tuition.
3. Education Endowment Foundation – Reading Comprehension Strategies.
4. Cambridge English – Teaching Critical Thinking in the Language Classroom.
Cambridge English
