400 שאלות Reported Speech מתקדם לשאלון G – איך להפסיק לנחש ולהתחיל להשתמש בדיבור עקיף בצורה מדויקת

יש משפט אחד שמצליח לחשוף בתוך שניות אם תלמיד באמת מבין Reported Speech או רק זוכר כמה חוקים בעל פה: She asked me where did I go. לרוב הוא אפילו לא נשמע רע. מי שקורא אותו במהירות עשוי לחשוב שהכול במקום: יש asked, יש מילת שאלה, יש פועל בעבר. ובכל זאת, באנגלית תקינה המשפט צריך להיות She asked me where I had gone או, בהתאם להקשר, She asked me where I went. דווקא הטעויות שנשמעות "כמעט נכונות" הן אלה שמלוות תלמידים הרבה זמן.

כאן מתחיל הקושי האמיתי של Reported Speech. הנושא אינו עוד טבלה שבה present הופך ל-past ו-will הופך ל-would.

הוא מסוגל לדקלם ש-present simple הופך ל-past simple, ש-present perfect יכול להפוך ל-past perfect וש-will הופך ל-would. הבעיה היא שידיעת טבלה אינה זהה ליכולת להפעיל אותה בתוך משפט אמיתי. אנגלית אינה תרגיל אלגברי שבו מחליפים סימן אחד ומקבלים תשובה.

לקביעת שיעור ניסיון חינם השאירו פרטים

קחו למשל את המשפט Rina said, "I will send you the document here tomorrow." כדי לדווח עליו מאוחר יותר צריך לטפל לפחות בארבעה רכיבים: I יהפוך ל-she, will עשוי להפוך ל-would, you תלוי במי שמדווח, here עשוי להפוך ל-there, ו-tomorrow עשוי להפוך ל-the next day.

לדוגמה: Maya אמרה ל-Daniel, "I will call you." אם Daniel מדווח על כך, הוא יכול לומר Maya said that she would call me.

He said that he was tired. המילה was אינה מופיעה מפני שיש כלל שרירותי שצריך לזכור; היא מסמנת שהעייפות תוארה מנקודת זמן קודמת.

כאשר המשפט המקורי הוא present continuous, למשל "I am waiting for the bus", דיווח מאוחר יותר עשוי להיות She said that she was waiting for the bus. Present perfect כגון "I have completed the task" יהפוך בדרך כלל ל-She said that she had completed the task. Past simple עשוי לנוע ל-past perfect: "I lost my key" → He said that he had lost his key.

Direct Speech Reported Speech נפוץ
present simple past simple
present continuous past continuous
present perfect past perfect
present perfect continuous past perfect continuous
past simple past perfect
past continuous past perfect continuous
past perfect בדרך כלל ללא שינוי
will would
can could
may might

המלכודת מתחילה כאשר תלמיד מנסה "לדחוף" כל זמן לאחור גם כשהדבר אינו אפשרי או אינו נחוץ. Past perfect כבר מציג פעולה שקדמה לנקודת עבר אחרת, ולכן בדרך כלל אין זמן נוסף שאליו צריך להזיז אותו. She said, "I had already finished" נשאר She said that she had already finished.

גם modal verbs אינם מתנהגים כולם באותה דרך. Will נוטה להפוך ל-would, can ל-could ו-may ל-might, אך מילים כגון would, might, could, should ו-ought to נשארות פעמים רבות ללא שינוי.

She told me that I needed help ו-She told me that she needed help הם שני משפטים שונים לגמרי, גם אם כל הזמנים בשניהם נכונים.

הדרך הבטוחה אינה לזכור ש-I "הופך ל-he או she". אין כלל כזה. I מייצג את הדובר המקורי. לכן צריך קודם לזהות מי אמר את המשפט. אם Daniel אמר "I am ready", יהיה he. אם Maya אמרה אותו, יהיה she. אם אתם עצמכם אמרתם אותו ואתם עדיין המדווחים, ייתכן ש-I בכלל לא ישתנה.

אותו עיקרון נכון לגבי you. זו אחת המילים המבלבלות ביותר משום שהיא יכולה להפוך ל-me, him, her, us או them. כדי לבחור נכון חייבים לדעת למי נאמר המשפט. תלמיד שמנסה לפתור Reported Speech בלי לדמיין את המשתתפים בשיחה עובד למעשה עם מידע חסר.

מילה במקור שינוי אפשרי בדיווח מאוחר יותר
now then / at that time
today that day
tonight that night
yesterday the day before / the previous day
tomorrow the next day / the following day
last week the week before / the previous week
next month the following month
ago before
here there
this that
these those

גם כאן, הטבלה היא אפשרות נפוצה ולא מכונה אוטומטית. אם מישהו אומר בבוקר "I will see you here tonight" ואתם עדיין באותו מקום ומדווחים על הדברים כמה דקות לאחר מכן, ייתכן שאין סיבה לשנות here.

Reported Questions: המקום שבו עברית ואנגלית מושכות לכיוונים שונים

אחת הטעויות העקשניות ביותר היא He asked me where did I live. היא נוצרת מפני שהתלמיד זוכר היטב איך בונים שאלה ישירה: Where did you live? ואז הוא משאיר את מבנה השאלה גם אחרי asked. אלא שבשאלה מדווחת איננו ממשיכים לבנות שאלה ישירה; אנחנו מדווחים על התוכן שלה.

לכן סדר המילים חוזר לסדר של statement. Where do you work? יכול להפוך ל-She asked me where I worked. אין do, אין inversion, ואין סימן שאלה בסוף המשפט המדווח. British Council מדגיש במדריכי reported questions שהמבנה לאחר מילת השאלה הוא מבנה של משפט רגיל. [תרגול British Council בנושא Reported Questions](https://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/comment/152144?utm_source=chatgpt.com)

בשאלות yes/no אין מילת שאלה שאפשר לשמור, ולכן משתמשים בדרך כלל ב-if או whether. "Are you ready?" → He asked me if I was ready. "Have they arrived?" → She asked whether they had arrived. הבחירה בין if ו-whether יכולה להיות סגנונית, ובמבנים מסוימים whether מתאים יותר, אבל בשלב הראשון חשוב להבין את התפקיד שלהם: הם מסמנים את תוכן השאלה בלי להפוך את המשפט עצמו לשאלה.

בשאלות עם who, what, where, when, why, how שומרים את מילת השאלה. "Why did you leave?" → She asked why I had left. "How long have you lived here?" → He wanted to know how long I had lived there. תלמיד שמבין את העיקרון הזה כבר אינו תלוי בתבנית אחת.

הבעיה מתחדדת כאשר השאלה נשמעת כמו בקשה. "Could you open the window?" היא מבחינה צורנית שאלה, אבל מבחינת הכוונה היא בקשה. לכן דיווח טבעי יהיה פעמים רבות She asked me to open the window, ולא בהכרח She asked if I could open the window. שתי הצורות עשויות לתאר סיטואציות שונות.

בשיעור פרטי באנגלית אפשר לתרגל את ההבדל באמצעות שיחה אמיתית. המורה שואל שאלה, התלמיד עונה, ואז נדרש לספר "מה המורה שאל אותי". הפעולה הזו מעבירה את הדקדוק מדף העבודה לזיכרון פעיל. היא גם חושפת מיד אם התלמיד עדיין חושב במבנה של שאלה ישירה.

טיפ מעשי: אחרי שאתם כותבים reported question, כסו את החלק He asked me…

She said that she was tired, אבל She told me that she was tired. לאחר tell צריך בדרך כלל לציין את האדם שאליו הדברים נאמרו. הטעות She told that… נפוצה מאוד אצל דוברי עברית.

בפקודות ובקשות ניתן להשתמש במבנה של object + infinitive: "Wait outside" → He told us to wait outside. בשלילה: "Don't touch it" → She warned me not to touch it. המבנה הזה יעיל מפני שהוא שומר על הכוונה בלי לנסות לשחזר כל מילה מן המשפט המקורי.

Reporting verbs מתקדמים מחייבים גם הכרת pattern. לדוגמה, promise מתאים בדרך כלל ל-to-infinitive: She promised to help. לעומת זאת deny מופיע לעיתים קרובות עם gerund: He denied taking the money. גם suggest יכול להופיע עם -ing: She suggested taking a break.

זו נקודה שבה תלמידים שאוספים אוצר מילים בלי ללמוד שימוש נתקעים. לדעת ש-admit פירושו "להודות" אינו מספיק אם כותבים אחריו מבנה לא נכון. לכן אוצר מילים מתקדם צריך להילמד בצירופים ובמשפטים, לא כמילה אנגלית מול תרגום עברי.

בכתיבה ברמה גבוהה, reporting verb מדויק יכול גם לצמצם מילים. במקום He said that he was sorry because he had arrived late, אפשר לכתוב He apologised for arriving late. במקום משפט ארוך על כך שמישהו אמר "אני בהחלט אעשה זאת", אפשר לכתוב He promised to do it.

נניח שמורה אומר היום: "Water boils at 100°C at standard atmospheric pressure." שעה מאוחר יותר תלמיד מספר מה נאמר. אין היגיון ממשי להציג את העובדה כאילו הפסיקה להיות נכונה. לכן אפשר לדווח על עובדה כללית בזמן הווה. אותו עיקרון יכול לחול על מצב שנשאר נכון: Daniel said that his sister lives in London, אם היא עדיין חיה שם.

לעומת זאת, אם המידע מתייחס למצב שכבר הסתיים, backshift מסייע ליצור מרחק בזמן. She said she was tired

She says she's feeling better או אפילו, בהתאם למסגרת הדיווח, She said she's feeling better

Our teacher advised us to divide the tasks according to our strengths. המשפט נשמע טבעי, מדויק ומתקדם יותר מסדרה של משפטים קצרים.

אפשר גם להשתמש בדיבור עקיף כדי לשלב ניסיון אישי בלי לכתוב דיאלוג. במקום My friend said, "Working alone is easier." אפשר לכתוב A friend once told me that working alone allowed him to concentrate better. עכשיו המשפט משתלב בטקסט טיעוני ולא נראה כמו סיפור ילדותי.

Reported Speech עוזר גם בהצגת עמדות מנוגדות. Some students claim that group work saves time, whereas others argue that it can create unnecessary disagreements.

She warned us not to wait until the last minute

She asked where did he go, אל תסתפקו בתיקון. כתבו עוד שלושה משפטים: where he lived, why he left, when he arrived.

גם כאשר תלמיד אחד עדיין לא הבין למה Where did you go?

My manager asked me when I could finish the report. מחפש עבודה יכול לתרגל שאלות ראיון: The interviewer asked me why I wanted the position.

המורה אומר: "I visited London last year." התלמיד צריך לספר: You said that you had visited London the year before.

Daniel said that his sister lives in London.

She asked me where did I go?

משום שהחלק where did I go שומר על המבנה של direct question. בשאלה ישירה אנחנו משתמשים ב-auxiliary ובסדר מילים מיוחד: Where did you go? אבל אחרי פועל דיווח כמו asked, השאלה כבר משובצת בתוך משפט גדול יותר ולכן החלק המדווח מקבל סדר מילים של statement. הצורה התקינה תהיה, לפי ההקשר, She asked me where I had gone או She asked me where I went. אותו עיקרון פועל גם עם present: Where do you work? הופך ל-He asked me where I worked. הדרך הפשוטה לבדוק היא לחפש do, does, did אחרי מילת השאלה. אם הם שם רק משום שהמשפט המקורי היה שאלה, בדרך כלל צריך להסיר אותם ולבנות את החלק המדווח כמו משפט רגיל.

4. מה ההבדל בין say ל-tell?

שני הפעלים קשורים לדיווח, אבל המבנה שלהם שונה. עם say לא חייבים לציין את האדם ששמע את הדברים: She said that she was tired. אם רוצים לציין אותו, משתמשים בדרך כלל ב-said to במבנים המתאימים. עם tell צריך בדרך כלל object: She told me that she was tired. לכן She told that… אינו המבנה הרגיל, וגם She said me… שגוי. הבלבול נפוץ מפני שבעברית אפשר להשתמש ב"אמר" במגוון הקשרים בלי אותו הבדל תחבירי. במקום לנסות לזכור הגדרה, כדאי ללמוד שני chunks: say something ו-tell someone something. לאחר מכן להרחיב ל-tell someone to do something, למשל The teacher told us to open our books.

5. איך יודעים אם להשתמש ב-if או whether?

בשאלות yes/no מדווחות צריך מילת חיבור שתכניס את תוכן השאלה, ולכן משתמשים בדרך כלל ב-if או whether: She asked if I was ready או She asked whether I was ready. She asked if was I ready, אלא She asked if I was ready.

למשל promise to do, admit doing, advise someone to do ו-suggest doing.

אם אתם מתקשים לומר האם I have been working הוא present perfect continuous, או אינכם בטוחים בהבדל בין I worked ל-I had worked, ייתכן שהפער העיקרי נמצא במערכת הזמנים.

The client asked whether we could deliver the project earlier. סטודנט יכול לכתוב: The lecturer explained that the theory had changed over time. מנהל יכול לדווח: The supplier promised to send the replacement by Friday.

Cambridge Dictionary – English Grammar Today, Reported Speech / Indirect Speech.
Cambridge הוא מקור לשוני סמכותי שמציג לא רק טבלאות של tense changes אלא גם את ההיגיון של backshift, modal verbs והמקרים שבהם אין צורך לבצע שינוי אוטומטי. המקור חשוב במיוחד למאמר הזה משום שהוא מדגים שהקשר ורלוונטיות בזמן משפיעים על הבחירה הדקדוקית.

British Council LearnEnglish – Reported Speech: Questions.
British Council מפעיל מערכי לימוד אנגלית בינלאומיים ומפרסם חומרי Grammar ברמות שונות. ההסבר שלו על reported questions מחדד את המעבר מסדר מילים של שאלה ישירה לסדר של statement, ואת השימוש ב-if/whether וב-WH words. זהו אחד המקומות שבהם תלמידים ישראלים נוטים לטעות במיוחד.

British Council LearnEnglish – Reported Speech: Reporting Verbs.
המקור מרחיב מעבר ל-say, tell ו-ask ומציג patterns של reporting verbs כגון advise, promise, admit, deny, suggest ו-warn. הוא מוסיף את הרמה השימושית שחסרה לעיתים בדפי דקדוק בסיסיים: איזה מבנה מגיע אחרי כל פועל וכיצד משמרים את הכוונה המקורית של הדובר.

משרד החינוך – English Bagrut, Module G 16582.
זהו המקור הרשמי לבדיקת מבנה שאלון G בישראל. בחינת קיץ 2026 כללה 60 נקודות להבנת הנקרא ו-40 נקודות ל-Written Presentation של 120–140 מילים. המקור מאפשר להפריד בין טענות מדויקות על מבנה הבחינה לבין המלצה פדגוגית ללמוד Reported Speech ככלי לשיפור הכתיבה והשליטה באנגלית.
