התרגיל הפשוט ביותר הוא לקחת שאלה כמו: "Should teenagers have a part-time job?"
המטרה היא לתכנן את הרעיון בעברית או במילות מפתח, אבל לבנות את המשפט עצמו באנגלית פשוטה: "A part-time job can teach teenagers responsibility." אחר כך אפשר להרחיב: "However, working too many hours may hurt their schoolwork."
כאן נמצא אחד היתרונות הגדולים של חשיבת For and Against. What is good about it? What can be a problem?
טיפ מעשי: לפני כל כתיבה, רשמו שלוש מילים בלבד: FOR, AGAINST, MY VIEW.
לדוגמה, אם הנושא הוא שימוש בטלפונים בבית הספר, אפשר לפתוח: "Smartphones can be useful at school, but I think their use should be limited during lessons." אחר כך אפשר להרחיב: "Students can use them to search for information or check a word. However, messages and social media can easily distract them."
לפעמים משפט אחד מספיק: "For example, students can use a dictionary app when they meet a new word."
לכתיבת For and Against קצרה אפשר להסתדר עם קבוצה קטנה מאוד של מילים שנמצאות בשליטה מלאה: first, also, because, for example, however, on the other hand, therefore, in my opinion ו־in conclusion.
אם כתבנו "Online lessons save travel time", ואז אנחנו רוצים להציג בעיה, אפשר לכתוב "However, some students miss being in a classroom." אם המשפט השני הוא תוצאה, אפשר לכתוב "Therefore, students have more time for other activities."
גם on the other hand אינה קישוט אוטומטי לפסקה השנייה.
Firstly… Secondly… Moreover… However… Therefore… Finally…
אם אתם יודעים לכתוב היטב Present Simple, Past Simple, Future, modals כמו can, should, may ו־could, ומבנים בסיסיים של conditionals, כבר יש לכם כלים רבים לכתיבת דעה. "Schools should give students more breaks because short breaks can help them concentrate."
למשל, במקום לשנן רק advantage, אפשר ללמוד: have an advantage, one advantage is, a major advantage, the main advantage. במקום ללמוד decision בלבד, אפשר לתרגל make a decision, difficult decision, important decision.
תלמיד יכול לכתוב רעיונות טובים אבל להפסיד דיוק שוב ושוב בגלל people is, he have, can to go או because of students need.

- Would you prefer to live in a large city or a small town?
Cities offer more services, while small towns may be quieter. I prefer a city because convenience matters to me. - Should students have more free time after school?
Free time supports rest and hobbies, but students also need enough practice. Homework should be focused rather than excessive. - Would you rather travel with family or friends?
Family trips feel comfortable, while trips with friends offer independence. My choice would depend on the destination. - Should people try new things even if they may fail?
Trying new things can build skills and confidence, although risks should be reasonable and considered. - Is it better to plan carefully or be spontaneous?
Planning prevents problems, while spontaneity creates flexibility. I prefer planning the important parts and leaving some freedom. - Should people spend money on learning new skills?
Useful training can create long-term benefits, but people should first check the quality and relevance of the course. - Would you prefer an active or relaxing holiday?
Active trips are exciting, but relaxing holidays reduce stress. I prefer a mixture of both. - Should young people spend more time with older relatives?
Different generations can learn from one another, although school, work and distance may make visits difficult. - Is it better to have a few close friends or many friends?
Many friends create a wider social circle, but a few close relationships often provide deeper support. - Should people learn something completely new as adults?
Learning keeps life interesting and develops confidence, although adults must find time around other responsibilities. - Is it better to solve problems alone or ask for help?
Independent problem solving builds ability, but asking for help can save time when a problem is genuinely difficult. - Should people set goals for themselves?
Goals provide direction and motivation, but they should be realistic and flexible when circumstances change. - Is competition good for students?
Competition can motivate some students, but too much can create stress. Personal improvement should also be valued. - Should people spend more time learning practical skills?
Practical skills make daily life easier, but academic and creative learning are important too. - Is convenience always worth paying more for?
Convenience saves time, but repeated extra costs can become expensive. I pay more only when the benefit is meaningful. - Should people make important decisions quickly?
Quick decisions are sometimes necessary, but important choices usually benefit from information and careful thought. - Is change generally a good thing?
Change can create opportunities, but not every change is an improvement. Its effects should be considered. - Should people keep learning English after school?
Continued practice helps maintain vocabulary and communication skills, especially when English is useful for work or travel. - Is confidence more important than perfect English?
Confidence helps people communicate, but accuracy also matters. The goal is to improve both gradually. - Is regular practice better than studying only before an exam?
Regular practice strengthens skills over time, while last-minute study often produces short-term memory rather than confident use.
בראשונה עושים רק תכנון של FOR, AGAINST ו־MY VIEW.
תלמיד שמסוגל להסביר בעל פה "I think school should start later because teenagers need more sleep" כבר מחזיק שלד של משפט כתוב.
טעויות נפוצות בהכנה לכתיבת For and Against וכיצד לתקן אותן
עדיף לשנן מבנים שימושיים וגמישים: "One advantage is…", "However…", "This can help…", "For example…", "In my opinion…".
What was I asked? What is my answer? What reasons did I give?
לדוגמה, because מול because of, או שימוש ב־can בלי to.
שאלות נפוצות על כתיבת For and Against ושאלון D
1. האם באמת צריך לכתוב For and Against בשאלון D?
תלמיד יכול לשפר את הכתיבה באמצעות צירופים שימושיים כמו make a decision, save time, cause problems, improve our lives, take responsibility ו־have an opportunity.
4-Point Bagrut Assessment Handbook.
4-Point Bagrut Assessment Handbook
Writing Rubric – Module C and External Module D
British Council – LearnEnglish, Opinion Essay.
An Opinion Essay – British Council
