ואז מגיע המשפט: “Passengers should use the replacement bus service because the train has been cancelled.”
לדעת ש־platform פירושו רציף זו התחלה טובה; להבין שהרכבת עברה מ־platform 2 ל־platform 5 ולענות על השאלה “Where should passengers go now?”
כך הוא מתחיל להבין צירופים ולא רק תרגומים: buy a ticket, miss a train, arrive at the station, flight delay, return ticket.
When מכוונת לזמן, Where למקום, Who לאדם, Why לסיבה ו־How בדרך כלל לדרך, אופן או הסבר.
נניח שבטקסט כתוב: “The museum bus normally leaves at 9:00, but on Sundays it leaves at 10:30.” והשאלה היא “When does the bus leave on Sundays?”.
But, however, instead, except, only למשל: “The bus usually stops near the school, but today it will stop outside the library.”
Not, never, cannot, no longer, except במשפט “Passengers cannot buy tickets from the driver”, התשובה לשאלה “Where can passengers buy tickets?”
בטקסט עשוי להופיע “The train was delayed because of heavy rain”, ובשאלה “Why did the train leave late?”.
אשכול טיסות יכול לכלול airport, flight, gate, passport, luggage, check-in, board, land.
מילות יחס הן נקודת תורפה נוספת: at the airport, on the bus, by train, from London to Leeds, across the road.
ההבדל בין “The bus leaves at six”, “The bus left at six” ו־“The bus will leave at six” הוא ההבדל בין לוח זמנים, אירוע שכבר התרחש ואירוע עתידי.
לעומת זאת, Past Simple מתאים לסיפור על נסיעה שכבר התרחשה: “They missed the bus and walked home.”
Must מצביע על חובה, can על אפשרות או יכולת, should על המלצה ו־must not על איסור. בהודעה בתחנה, ההבדל בין “Passengers should arrive early” לבין “Passengers must show a ticket” חשוב להבנת השאלה.
במשפט “Maya bought a new bicycle because she needed it for school”, המילה it מתייחסת ל־bicycle.

אם שואלים “Why was the bus delayed?” והקטע אומר “The bus arrived twenty minutes late because heavy snow slowed traffic”, התשובה “Because heavy snow slowed traffic” ממוקדת יותר מהעתקת כל המשפט.
למשל, במקום לכתוב delay = עיכוב, כתבו “The train has a 20-minute delay.”

גם שאלות כמו “Where does the bus leave from?” או “How long is the delay?”

2. Cambridge English – A2 Key and A2 Key for Schools Vocabulary List, August 2025.
3. British Council LearnEnglish – Transport 1 / Transport 2.
4. British Council LearnEnglish – An Airport Notice.
