400 שאלות ותשובות לכתיבת הודעה לחבר – בגרות 3 יחידות שאלון B: מדריך לתרגול כתיבה באנגלית בלי להיתקע

יש רגע מוכר מאוד לתלמידים שמתקשים באנגלית. הם קוראים הוראה קצרה: לכתוב הודעה לחבר, להזמין אותו למקום מסוים, לספר לו מה קרה, להציע תוכנית או לבקש ממנו עזרה. לכאורה זו אחת המשימות הפשוטות ביותר שאפשר לקבל. אין טקסט ארוך לקרוא, אין שאלה מסובכת, ולרוב גם לא צריך להכיר מילים נדירות. ואז מגיע הדף הריק. התלמיד יודע מה הוא רוצה לומר בעברית, אבל באנגלית המשפט הראשון פשוט לא מגיע.

דווקא כאן מתגלה ההבדל בין "למדתי אנגלית" לבין "אני מסוגל להשתמש באנגלית". תלמיד יכול להכיר Present Simple, לדעת מאות מילים ולזהות תשובות בטקסט, ובכל זאת להתקשות לכתוב ארבעה או חמישה משפטים רצופים. הסיבה בדרך כלל אינה חוסר אינטליגנציה או חוסר השקעה. הבעיה היא שחלק גדול מהלמידה התמקד בזיהוי תשובה נכונה, בעוד שבכתיבה התלמיד צריך לייצר את השפה בעצמו.

כתיבת הודעה לחבר היא לכן תרגיל מצוין הרבה מעבר לציון בבגרות. היא מאלצת את הלומד להפוך מחשבה למשפט: לבחור זמן מתאים, למצוא פועל, לחבר בין רעיונות, להתאים את הטון לאדם שמקבל את ההודעה ולהחליט מה באמת חשוב לכתוב. מי שמתרגל את הפעולה הזאת באופן עקבי מגלה שהיא משפיעה גם על הדיבור. משפטים שנכתבו שוב ושוב מתחילים להגיע מהר יותר גם בשיחה.

חשוב לדייק גם מבחינת הבחינה. בארכיון הרשמי של משרד החינוך ניתן למצוא גרסאות של Module B שבהן משימת הכתיבה הייתה חלק משמעותי מהשאלון, ובמועדים שונים נדרשה כתיבה קצרה של כ־35–40 מילים. המבנה המדויק של בחינות באנגלית השתנה לאורך השנים, ולכן תלמיד שניגש לבחינה בפועל צריך תמיד לבדוק את הוראות בית הספר ואת המתכונת העדכנית של משרד החינוך ולא להסתמך על חומר תרגול ישן בלבד.

המדריך שלפניכם מיועד לתרגול בסגנון שאלון B ולחיזוק היכולת לכתוב הודעות קצרות באנגלית. 400 המשימות שבהמשך אינן שאלות רשמיות של משרד החינוך, אלא שאלות תרגול מקוריות שנבנו כדי לכסות כמה שיותר מצבים שהתלמיד עשוי לפגוש: הזמנה, התנצלות, תוכניות, בית ספר, טיול, משפחה, תחביבים, בקשת עזרה, מתן עצה, אירוע, קנייה, אוכל, תחבורה, ספורט ועוד.

המטרה אינה לשנן 400 תשובות. להפך. מי שמנסה לזכור מאות טקסטים בעל פה יוצר לעצמו בעיה חדשה. המטרה היא לראות שוב ושוב כיצד מספר קטן של מבנים שימושיים יכול לשרת עשרות מצבים שונים, עד שהתלמיד מסוגל ליצור תשובה משלו.

למה משימה של 35–40 מילים יכולה להיות קשה יותר מחיבור ארוך?

כאשר תלמיד מקבל מקום לכתוב טקסט קצר, אין לו הרבה מקום להסתתר. בחיבור ארוך אפשר לפעמים להוסיף משפט כללי, להסביר רעיון בדרך אחרת או לעבור לנושא שהכותב מכיר טוב יותר. בהודעה קצרה כל משפט צריך לבצע עבודה. אם ההוראה מבקשת להזמין חבר, לציין זמן ולהסביר מה תעשו יחד, שלושת הרכיבים צריכים להופיע. שכחה של אחד מהם אינה רק בעיית אנגלית; זו בעיה של הבנת המשימה.

במחוונים ודוגמאות רשמיות של משימות כתיבה באנגלית רואים שוב ושוב את החשיבות של רלוונטיות לתוכן. תלמידים רבים עושים דווקא את ההפך: הם משקיעים את רוב האנרגיה בחיפוש אחר "מילים גבוהות". הם כותבים משפט מסובך שלמדו מראש, אבל שוכחים לענות על שאלה פשוטה כמו מתי נפגשים. כתיבה טובה למבחן מתחילה בכיסוי המשימה ורק לאחר מכן בשיפור השפה.

הקושי השני הוא מגבלת הזמן. תלמיד שיוצר כל משפט בעברית, מתרגם אותו בראש, בודק כל מילה במילון ואז חוזר כדי לבדוק את הדקדוק, עובד לאט מאוד. ככל שהלחץ עולה, היכולת לשלוף מילים יורדת. לכן תרגול נכון אינו עוסק רק בידע. הוא מפתח אוטומטיות: לדעת לפתוח הודעה במהירות, להביע סיבה, להציע רעיון ולסיים אותה בלי להמציא את המבנה מחדש בכל פעם.

We haven't been there for a long time.

פשטות אינה חולשה. משפט פשוט, ברור ונכון עדיף בדרך כלל על מבנה מורכב שהתלמיד אינו שולט בו. כשהבסיס יציב אפשר להוסיף בהדרגה because, but, so, after that, maybe, if you want, I think, I hope ו־would you like. כך הטקסט נשמע טבעי יותר בלי להפוך למבחן בדקדוק מתקדם.

בשיעור אנגלית אונליין אישי אפשר לראות בדיוק באיזה שלב התלמיד נתקע. תלמיד אחד מבין את ההוראה אבל חסרות לו מילים. אחר מכיר את המילים אבל בונה סדר מילים עברי. תלמיד שלישי כותב מצוין בבית אך קופא כשהוא מוגבל בזמן. כאשר המורה רואה את הכתיבה בזמן אמת, אפשר לעבוד על מקור הקושי ולא לתת לכל התלמידים את אותו דף עבודה.

טיפ מעשי: לפני שאתם כותבים אפילו משפט אחד, סמנו שלושה דברים שההודעה חייבת לכלול. אם המשימה היא "הזמן חבר לסרט, כתוב מתי הסרט והסבר למה אתה רוצה לראות אותו", רשמו בצד: invite – Friday 7 – funny movie. עכשיו הכתיבה כבר אינה מתחילה מדף ריק.

השיטה של שלוש נקודות: איך מתכננים הודעה לפני שמתחילים לכתוב?

אחת הדרכים היעילות ביותר להוריד לחץ ממשימת כתיבה קצרה היא להפריד בין חשיבה לכתיבה. תלמידים חלשים נוטים לנסות לבצע הכול בו זמנית: להבין את המשימה, לבחור רעיון, למצוא אוצר מילים, לבחור זמן דקדוקי ולבדוק איות. העומס הזה גורם לתחושה ש"אני לא יודע אנגלית", גם כאשר בפועל התלמיד יודע הרבה מהחומר הדרוש.

בחומרי ההכנה של Cambridge English למשימות אימייל קצרות מוצעת טכניקה פשוטה: לפני כתיבת הטקסט המלא רושמים כמה מילות מפתח לכל נקודת תוכן. אפשר לראות את הגישה הזאת בחומר ההוראה של Cambridge English לכתיבת אימייל קצר. עבור תלמיד ישראלי שמתקשה להתחיל, הפעולה הזאת יכולה להיות משמעותית במיוחד משום שהיא מפחיתה את הצורך "להמציא הכול בבת אחת".

נניח שהשאלה היא: כתבו הודעה לחבר והזמינו אותו למסיבת יום הולדת. כתבו מתי המסיבה, היכן היא מתקיימת ומה אתם מתכננים לעשות. במקום לחשוב על פסקה שלמה, כותבים: Saturday – my house – pizza and music. שלוש התשובות כבר קיימות. כעת צריך רק לעטוף אותן במשפטים.

אפשר ליצור תבנית חשיבה קבועה שאינה תבנית שינון: פתיחה קצרה, מטרת ההודעה, שניים או שלושה פרטים וסיום. למשל: Hi Tom, I'm having a birthday party this Saturday at my house. We are going to eat pizza, listen to music and play games. I'd love you to come. See you! התלמיד עדיין מתאים את התוכן לכל משימה, אבל אינו צריך להחליט מחדש כיצד הודעה בנויה.

מה קורה כשמדלגים על התכנון? לעיתים קרובות המשפט הראשון הופך ארוך מדי. באמצע המשפט התלמיד משנה רעיון, מוסיף because, שוכח את הפועל ומתחיל למחוק. שתי דקות הולכות על שורה אחת. תכנון של חצי דקה יכול לחסוך הרבה יותר זמן בהמשך.

בשיעור פרטי באנגלית בזום אפשר לתרגל את התהליך באופן גלוי. המורה מציג משימה, מבקש מהתלמיד לא לכתוב עדיין, ושואל: "מה שלושת הדברים שאתה חייב לספר לחבר?" רק אחרי שהתלמיד מזהה אותם מתחילים לנסח. לאחר כמה תרגולים התהליך הופך להרגל שהתלמיד יכול להפעיל לבד.

תרגיל שאפשר לעשות כבר עכשיו: קחו חמש משימות מתוך 400 השאלות שבהמשך. אל תכתבו תשובה. לכל משימה רשמו רק שלוש עד חמש מילות מפתח באנגלית. ביום הבא חזרו אליהן ונסו ליצור הודעות מלאות בלי לראות את תשובות הדוגמה.

הודעה לחבר צריכה להישמע כמו הודעה לחבר – לא כמו מכתב למנהל

אחת הטעויות המעניינות בכתיבה למבחן היא שהלחץ גורם לתלמידים להפוך כל הודעה לרשמית מדי. נער שרוצה להזמין חבר לכדורגל כותב Dear Sir, I am writing to inform you…. מבחינה דקדוקית ייתכן שהמשפט תקין, אבל מבחינת תקשורת הוא אינו מתאים לסיטואציה.

כשכותבים לחבר אפשר להשתמש בפתיחות טבעיות כמו Hi Dan, Hello Maya, Hey Tom. אפשר להמשיך ב־How are you?, אבל אין חובה להכניס את השאלה לכל הודעה. אם המקום מוגבל, עדיף לעבור מהר לסיבה: I'm writing to invite you…, I want to tell you…, Can you help me…? או Would you like to…?

גם הסיום צריך להתאים למערכת היחסים. See you soon, Write back soon, Hope you can come, Let me know או Take care יכולים להיות טבעיים. אין צורך לדחוס שלושה משפטי סיום אם הם אינם מוסיפים מידע.

באתר LearnEnglish של British Council אפשר לראות דוגמאות של כתיבת הודעות כדי לקבוע תוכניות עם חברים. הדוגמאות ממחישות עיקרון חשוב: תקשורת יומיומית משתמשת לעיתים קרובות במשפטים פשוטים מאוד – הצעה, תגובה, זמן, מקום ואישור. לא צריך להפוך הודעה קצרה לחיבור ספרותי.

הבעיה נוצרת לעיתים מפני שתלמיד למד רשימת "פתיחות לחיבור" בלי להבין באילו מצבים משתמשים בהן. לכן כדאי ללמוד פונקציות ולא רק משפטים. יש משפטים להזמנה, משפטים להתנצלות, משפטים להצעה, משפטים לבקשת עזרה ומשפטים להבעת דעה. כאשר מבינים מה המשפט עושה, אפשר לבחור אותו לפי הצורך.

מורה לאנגלית בזום יכול לעבוד עם התלמיד על הבדל בין רשמי לידידותי באמצעות תרגול מהיר: אותו מסר נכתב פעם לחבר ופעם למורה. כך התלמיד אינו רק זוכר ביטוי אלא לומד להתאים אנגלית למי שנמצא מולו – מיומנות שרלוונטית גם לחיים האמיתיים, לעבודה ולתקשורת דיגיטלית.

טיפ: אחרי שסיימתם הודעה, שאלו את עצמכם: "האם באמת הייתי שולח משפט כזה לחבר?" אם התשובה היא לא, בדקו אם אפשר לנסח אותו בצורה פשוטה וטבעית יותר.

איך לכתוב פשוט בלי להישמע ילדותי?

תלמידים רבים חושבים שיש רק שתי אפשרויות: אנגלית בסיסית מאוד או אנגלית מסובכת. בפועל, אפשר לכתוב אנגלית פשוטה אך איכותית. ההבדל נמצא לא באורך המילים אלא בחיבור בין הרעיונות. ארבעה משפטים ברורים שמתקדמים באופן הגיוני יוצרים טקסט טוב יותר מאוסף משפטים מרשימים שאינם קשורים זה לזה.

לדוגמה, I like the park. The park is nice. My friends like the park. We go to the park. הוא טקסט מובן, אבל שטוח. אפשר לשפר אותו בלי שום דקדוק מתקדם: I like the park because it is quiet and beautiful. My friends like it too, so we often go there after school. אותן מילים בסיסיות משרתות כעת רעיון שלם.

לכן כדאי לבנות "ערכת חיבור" קטנה: and, but, because, so, also, then, after that, before, when, if. לא צריך להשתמש בכולן בכל הודעה. אפילו because אחד ו־so אחד יכולים להפוך רצף משפטים לתקשורת טבעית יותר.

הטעות ההפוכה היא להכניס מילת קישור לכל משפט. תלמיד שלמד however ו־in addition לפעמים משתמש בהן בהודעה לחבר רק כדי להראות שהוא מכיר אותן. במטלה קצרה חשוב שהשפה תשרת את התוכן. אם but מבטא את הרעיון בצורה מדויקת, אין צורך לחפש חלופה מורכבת.

בתרגול אישי אפשר לקחת הודעה שכבר נכתבה ולשפר רק דבר אחד בכל פעם. בסיבוב הראשון בודקים אם כל רכיבי המשימה קיימים. בסיבוב השני מחברים שני משפטים. בסיבוב השלישי מתקנים פעלים. בסיבוב הרביעי בודקים איות. השיטה הזאת יעילה במיוחד לתלמידים שמאבדים ריכוז כאשר מתקנים להם עשר טעויות בבת אחת.

גם תלמיד עם אוצר מילים מצומצם יכול להתקדם במהירות כאשר הוא לומד להשתמש היטב במילים שכבר יש לו. באנגלית אחד על אחד המורה יכול לזהות אילו 30–50 מילים וביטויים חסרים לתלמיד כדי לכתוב על רוב נושאי היום־יום, במקום לתת לו רשימה של מאות מילים מנותקות מהשימוש.

תרגיל: בחרו תשובה אחת מהרשימה שבהמשך ונסו לכתוב אותה מחדש באמצעות מילים פשוטות יותר. אם המשמעות נשמרה והמשפטים ברורים, לא "הורדתם רמה" – שיפרתם שליטה.

אוצר מילים לכתיבת הודעה לחבר: ללמוד לפי מצבים ולא לפי רשימות

מי שלמד פעם רשימה של מאה מילים למבחן מכיר את התחושה: בערב נדמה שהוא זוכר הכול, ואחרי כמה ימים רוב המילים נעלמו. אחת הסיבות היא שהמוח קיבל פריטים בודדים בלי סיטואציה. בכתיבת הודעות אפשר לעבוד אחרת. כל מילה נכנסת לתוך פעולה אמיתית.

במקום ללמוד רק invite = להזמין, לומדים I'd like to invite you to…. במקום רק advice = עצה, לומדים Can you give me some advice?. במקום available = פנוי, אפשר לתרגל Are you free on Friday?. כך אוצר המילים הופך לחלק ממשפט שניתן לשלוף.

כדאי ליצור מחברת לפי מטרות תקשורת: הזמנה, בקשה, התנצלות, תודה, הצעה, תוכנית, בעיה, דעה, תיאור אירוע וסיום הודעה. תחת כל כותרת רושמים חמישה עד שמונה משפטים קצרים. תוך זמן קצר נוצרת ספרייה שימושית הרבה יותר מרשימת מילים אלפביתית.

הסכנה היא להפוך גם את המשפטים האלה לשינון עיוור. המטרה היא לשנות אותם. אם למדתם Would you like to come to my birthday party?, החליפו birthday party ב־football game, school event, picnic, movie night או trip. כאשר אותו מבנה פועל בחמישה הקשרים שונים, מתחילים באמת להבין אותו.

בשיעורי אנגלית אונליין אפשר לבנות את אוצר המילים מתוך טעויות אמיתיות של התלמיד. אם בכל כתיבה הוא מחפש את המילה "להיפגש", מלמדים meet ומתרגלים אותה בכמה משפטים. אם הוא מסתבך כל הזמן עם "להביא", עובדים על bring. הלימוד נעשה ממוקד בצורך ולא לפי סדר שרירותי של ספר.

הגישה הזאת מתאימה גם למבוגרים שחוזרים ללמוד אחרי שנים. אדם שצריך אנגלית לעבודה לא חייב להתחיל מרשימת מילים לילדים; אפשר לבנות בנק ביטויים סביב פגישות, לקוחות, זמן, משימות ותיאום. העיקרון זהה: שפה נשמרת טוב יותר כאשר יש לה שימוש ברור.

טיפ: בכל פעם שאתם פוגשים ביטוי שימושי, אל תרשמו רק את המילה. רשמו משפט קצר שבו באמת תוכלו להשתמש. חזרה על משפט פעיל מועילה הרבה יותר מזיהוי פסיבי של תרגום.

התרגילים הבאים בנויים כדי לפתח גמישות. אין כאן ניסיון לנחש שאלה מסוימת שתופיע בבחינה. להפך: המטרה היא שכאשר הנושא ישתנה, עדיין תדעו מה לעשות. בכל שאלה יש משימה קצרה ולאחריה תשובת דוגמה אפשרית.

התשובות הן מודלים ללמידה ולא "התשובה הנכונה היחידה". אפשר לכתוב תשובה אחרת לחלוטין ובלבד שהיא עונה על הנדרש, מובנת ומתאימה לרמת המשימה. מומלץ להשתמש בדוגמאות כדי ללמוד מבנה וביטויים – לא כדי לשנן אותן מילה במילה.

בתרגול ראשון אפשר לקרוא את השאלה ואת התשובה יחד. בתרגול שני הסתירו את התשובה וכתבו בעצמכם. בתרגול שלישי שנו פרט מרכזי: יום אחר, מקום אחר, סיבה אחרת. כך אתם מאלצים את המוח ליצור אנגלית ולא רק לזכור אותה.

מי שמתקשה מאוד יכול להתחיל ב־10 שאלות בלבד. אין שום יתרון בלפתור 50 תרגילים ברצף אם אחרי השאלה העשירית כבר לא חושבים. עדיף לתרגל מעט, לקבל תיקון ולחזור על אותה מיומנות בצורה טובה.

מי שכבר כותב ברמה סבירה יכול להפוך כל תרגיל לאתגר זמן. הקציבו לעצמכם דקה לתכנון וכמה דקות לכתיבה, ואז דקה לבדיקה. המטרה אינה לרוץ אלא לגלות אילו פעולות עדיין לוקחות לכם זמן רב מדי.

בשיעור אנגלית אישי אפשר להשתמש באותן שאלות בצורה נוספת: קודם לענות עליהן בעל פה ורק אחר כך בכתב. כך נוצר חיבור בין כתיבה לדיבור, והתלמיד רואה שהמשפטים שהוא בונה למבחן הם למעשה משפטים שימושיים לחיים.

1–20: הזמנות ותוכניות עם חברים

איך להפוך את 400 השאלות האלה לאימון ולא למרתון של העתקה?

קל מאוד להסתכל על מספר כמו 400 ולהחליט שצריך "לסיים את הרשימה". זו לא המטרה. מי שמעתיק ארבע מאות תשובות יכול להשלים הרבה עבודה בלי לפתח כמעט שום יכולת חדשה. תרגול אמיתי מתחיל במקום שבו התלמיד נדרש להחליט בעצמו מה לכתוב.

דרך טובה לעבוד היא מחזור של ארבע משימות ביום. בשאלה הראשונה אפשר לקרוא את תשובת הדוגמה. בשנייה כותבים תשובה ורק אז משווים. בשלישית מגבילים את הזמן. ברביעית עונים קודם בעל פה ורק אחר כך כותבים. ארבע משימות כאלה דורשות יותר חשיבה מעשרים משימות שמעתיקים.

אפשר גם לעבוד בשיטת "אותה שאלה, שלוש תשובות". קחו, למשל, הזמנה לחבר לסרט. בפעם הראשונה הסרט ביום שישי. בפעם השנייה החבר אינו פנוי ולכן מציעים שבת. בפעם השלישית הסרט בוטל ולכן מציעים פעילות אחרת. פתאום המבנים שלמדתם צריכים להתאים למציאות משתנה.

השלב החשוב ביותר הוא תיקון. לא מספיק לראות שהמורה סימן שגיאה. צריך להבין איזו משפחת טעויות חוזרת. האם אתם שוכחים to אחרי want? האם אתם כותבים I am go? האם אתם משתמשים ב־he have? האם אתם שוכחים אות גדולה בתחילת משפט? כאשר מזהים דפוס, אפשר לתקן הרגל ולא רק משפט.

זו אחת הנקודות שבהן לימוד אנגלית בהתאמה אישית יכול להיות יעיל יותר מעוד מאגר תרגילים. מורה שעובד עם תלמיד לאורך זמן רואה שהבעיה אינה "כתיבה" באופן כללי. הוא יכול לומר: בשבועיים הקרובים אנחנו עובדים רק על סדר מילים, Present Simple ופתיחת הודעות. לאחר מכן עוברים למילות קישור ולזמנים אחרים.

גם תלמידים עם קשיי קשב יכולים להרוויח מפירוק התהליך. במקום עמוד מלא של שאלות, מציגים משימה אחת. מתכננים, כותבים, מקבלים משוב קצר וממשיכים. השיעור אינו דורש לשבת בשקט מול עשרות תרגילים זהים; הוא יכול לעבור בין קריאה, דיבור, כתיבה ותיקון.

טיפ שימושי: צרו דף בשם "חמש הטעויות שלי". בכל פעם שאתם מקבלים תיקון, בדקו אם הוא שייך לאחת מחמש הקטגוריות. לפני הגשת משימת כתיבה, עברו רק על הרשימה הזאת. בדיקה ממוקדת יעילה יותר מניסיון לבדוק את כל האנגלית בעולם.

למה תלמיד מבין אנגלית אבל אינו מצליח לכתוב או לדבר?

הבנת שפה והפקת שפה אינן אותה פעולה. כאשר קוראים משפט, חלק גדול מהמידע כבר נמצא מול העיניים. המילים נבחרו, הסדר נקבע והזמן הדקדוקי מופיע. התלמיד צריך לזהות משמעות. כאשר הוא כותב, שום דבר אינו מוכן עבורו. עליו לשלוף מילה, לבחור צורה דקדוקית, לסדר את המשפט ולבדוק אם אדם אחר יבין אותו.

לכן אפשר בהחלט להיות תלמיד שמצליח יחסית בהבנת הנקרא ועדיין מרגיש חסר אונים מול הודעה קצרה. אותו דבר קורה בדיבור. אדם יכול להבין סדרה באנגלית ברמה מסוימת, אבל כאשר מישהו שואל אותו שאלה פשוטה הוא מרגיש שהמילים "נעלמו". זו תופעה הגיונית של פער בין ידע פסיבי ליכולת הפקה.

הטעות היא להסיק שהפתרון הוא עוד ועוד דקדוק. לפעמים דקדוק אכן חסר, אבל תלמיד שכבר למד את Present Simple במשך שנים לא בהכרח צריך הסבר נוסף של 45 דקות. ייתכן שהוא צריך 30 שאלות קצרות שבהן הוא משתמש בזמן הזה בעצמו ומקבל תיקון מיד.

הדרך להעביר ידע מפסיבי לאקטיבי היא שליפה. אומרים משפט בלי לראות אותו. כותבים תשובה בלי להעתיק. משנים פרט במשפט קיים. מסבירים משהו במילים אחרות. ככל שהתלמיד נדרש ליצור, השפה נעשית זמינה יותר לשימוש.

זו גם הסיבה שתרגול דיבור יכול לחזק כתיבה ולהפך. תלמיד שקודם אומר I can't come on Friday because I have a family dinner כבר פתר חלק משמעותי ממשימת הכתיבה. עכשיו הוא צריך להעביר משפט קיים לדף ולא לייצר אותו מאפס.

בשיעור אנגלית אונליין אחד על אחד אין צורך לחכות שכל הכיתה תענה. התלמיד מדבר הרבה יותר. אם הוא עוצר, המורה יכול לתת רמז קטן במקום מיד לתת את התשובה. אם הוא משתמש בעברית, אפשר לעזור לו להפוך דווקא את המשפט שהוא רצה לומר לאנגלית שימושית. כך השיעור נבנה מתוך העולם שלו.

תרגיל: לפני כל תשובת כתיבה, כסו את הדף ואמרו בקול שני משפטים על הנושא. הם לא חייבים להיות מושלמים. אחר כך כתבו אותם בצורה מסודרת. עבור תלמידים רבים, המעבר דרך דיבור מוריד את תחושת הדף הריק.

דקדוק לכתיבת הודעה: מה באמת צריך לשלוט בו?

משימת הודעה קצרה אינה מקום להפגין את כל מערכת הזמנים באנגלית. ברוב המצבים היומיומיים ניתן לעשות עבודה מצוינת באמצעות מספר מבנים בסיסיים: Present Simple לתיאור הרגלים ודעות, Present Progressive למה שקורה עכשיו או לתוכניות מסוימות, Past Simple לאירוע שכבר קרה, ו־will או going to לתוכניות ולעתיד.

הקושי אינו בדרך כלל לזהות את שם הזמן. תלמיד יכול לדקלם "Present Simple – הרגלים ועובדות" אבל לכתוב He go to school every day. כלומר הוא מכיר את הכותרת ולא הפך אותה להרגל כתיבה. לכן תרגול צריך להתמקד במשפטים שלמים בתוך סיטואציה.

חשוב במיוחד לשלוט במבנים שימושיים מאוד להודעות: Would you like to…?, Do you want to…?, Can you…?, Could you…?, I'm sorry I can't…, I hope you can…, Let me know…. אלו אינם "חוקים" מנותקים; הם כלים שמבצעים פעולות תקשורתיות.

עוד אזור שכדאי לבדוק הוא סדר מילים. בעברית אפשר לעיתים להזיז רכיבים בצורה גמישה יותר. באנגלית התלמיד צריך להתרגל לרצפים כמו Subject + Verb + Object. לדוגמה: I bought a new book yesterday. תרגום מילה־במילה מעברית עלול לייצר סדר לא טבעי.

גם מילות יחס דורשות תשומת לב: on Friday, at seven, in the morning, at school, at home, by bus. אין צורך ללמוד את כולן ביום אחד. אפשר לאסוף את אלה שחוזרות שוב ושוב בכתיבת הודעות ולתרגל אותן בתוך משפטים שימושיים.

בשיעור פרטני המורה יכול לבנות "מפת דקדוק אישית". תלמיד שמסתדר היטב עם Past Simple אבל טועה בכל שאלה על עתיד אינו צריך עוד תרגול שווה בכל הזמנים. משקיעים את הזמן במקום שבו כל תיקון יכול לשפר הרבה תשובות.

טיפ: אל תנסו לבצע בדיקת דקדוק בזמן שאתם ממציאים רעיונות. קודם כתבו. לאחר מכן עברו על הפעלים בלבד ושאלו: מתי זה קורה? מי עושה את הפעולה? האם צורת הפועל מתאימה?

איך שיעור אנגלית אונליין אחד על אחד יכול לשנות את תהליך הכתיבה?

תלמיד שמתקשה במשימת כתיבה לרוב אינו זקוק לעוד אדם שיגיד לו "תתרגל יותר". הוא צריך לדעת מה לתרגל. יש תלמידים שמאבדים נקודות כי אינם קוראים את כל ההוראות. יש תלמידים שמתחילים טוב אבל משפטיהם ארוכים מדי. לאחרים יש אוצר מילים מצוין אך טעויות בסיסיות בפעלים. בלי אבחון, כל התלמידים מקבלים לעיתים אותו פתרון.

בשיעור אישי אפשר להתחיל ממשימה קצרה אחת ולצפות בתהליך. כמה זמן לוקח לתלמיד להתחיל? האם הוא מתרגם כל משפט מעברית? האם הוא נעזר יותר מדי במילון? האם הוא מוחק שוב ושוב? האם הוא שוכח סעיף? המידע הזה שווה הרבה יותר מציון כללי של "70 בכתיבה".

לאחר מכן אפשר לבנות שגרת עבודה קבועה: 30 שניות קריאת הוראה, 30 שניות לרשום מילות מפתח, כתיבה, בדיקת תוכן, בדיקת פעלים ובדיקה קצרה של איות. כאשר אותו תהליך חוזר בשיעורי אנגלית אונליין, הוא הופך בהדרגה להרגל שגם מפחית לחץ.

יתרון נוסף הוא האפשרות לעבוד בקול. מורה יכול לבקש: "אל תכתוב עדיין. ספר לי מה אתה רוצה להגיד לחבר." התלמיד אומר משפט. מתקנים אותו בעדינות. עכשיו כותבים. עבור מי שקופא מול דף, המעבר משיחה לכתיבה עשוי להיות הרבה יותר טבעי.
